Mondo Search is thrilled to announce that Iain Riggs, (AM), will be joining our team as a Wine Advisor. Iain has more than 45 years of winemaking, grape growing and management experience, that extends from the South Australian Riverland to Langhorne Creek and McLaren Vale. He has a strong commitment to building regional economic development, growing leaders & teams.
Upon suggestion from James Halliday Iain joined as Winemaker and progressed to Managing Director of Brokenwood Wines, crafting over three decades some of Australia’s most iconic wines, overseeing the company’s growth, governance, and profitability.
Iain’s mantra is service, creating opportunities and building enjoyable work cultures. He has served as a Board member for many wine & tourism industry bodies, including the Winemaker’s Federation, Chair of Sydney Royal Wine Show, International judging including Chair of the Shanghai International Wine Challenge and judge at the Decanter World Wine Awards. As well as serving as Chair of the Hunter Marketing from 2006 to 2011 and Chair of the Hunter Valley Bicentennial Committee, overseeng the 200 year 2028 celebrations, Wine Communicators and Living Legends.
As Chair of Trustees of the Len Evans Foundation and Chair of the Board of the Len Evans Tutorial, he has contributed significantly to the education and development of Australian and international wine industry leaders. James Halliday has described it as “ the greatest wine school in the world”. Iain has mentored and guided many up-and-coming Australian wine industry personnel
Delighted that Iain is joining Mondo Search, Iain will be sharing his wealth of knowledge and expertise with our clients, helping them to build high performing teams. He will be working closely with our team of Executive Search Consultants to provide a bespoke wine advisory services tailored to each client’s individual needs.
When not immersed in wine, Iain can be found managing the Mistress Block Vineyard Boutique Accommodation and vineyard and occasionally on the golf course.
